Darjeeling is a town in India’s West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It’s famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.
On arrival at the Bagdogra airport, bus or railway station, a representative from our team will welcome your presence. Once you step on the land of lush and verdant landscapes, embark on a 4-hour drive to reach Gangtok. It has emerged as a dynamic centre for culture art and cuisine. Upon reaching the hotel, check in and relax. The rest of the day will be at your will to explore. We recommend you to take a stroll on the MG Marg in the evening. Explore the local cuisines and shop for local art and artefacts in the buzzing shops here. The Nepalese dresses, Tibetan carpets, alpine cheese, hand-woven jackets, electronics and bamboo and cane baskets are among the most famous picks. Return back to the hotel and enjoy spending the overnight in the comfort of the hotel room in Gangtok.
It’s the second day of your excursion, and you should be energised for the awaiting adventure. Today, it’s all about Gangtok and its awe-inspiring sights.
Bakthang Waterfalls :
At the distance of 3 km from Gangtok, Bakthang Waterfall will be your first stop which is an eye-catching attraction that no tourist ever want to miss. Flowing from Ratey Chu, it is a broad waterfall that creates a soothing environment for the visitors to enjoy.
Tashi Viewpoint

Ganesh Tok

Enchey Monastery
our next destination of the day is a 200 years old monastery which was initially established as a small gompa by a tantric artist and renowned exponent among highlander Buddhists, Lama DrupthobKarpo. Enchey Monastery literally means “the Solitary Temple” which now is home to almost 90 monks. Tourists are quite fascinated by the place because it accommodates a number of religious objects and presents Tibetan culture in a beguiling manner.
Directorate of handicraft and handloom
Now, it is time for you to admire the local art and talent depicted through the Handicrafts in this Directorate which is located at the ‘Zero’ point of the city. Here you can buy the majestic artefacts such as Thanka painting, traditional carpets, wooden carved and colourfully painted sculptures and much more.
Do DrulChorten Stupa
Standing proudly on the hill Hock, Do DrulChorten, also known as Phurba, is your next station which is also the biggest stupa of Sikkim.
Institute of Tibetelogy
After your spiritual tour, it is time for you to grasp some cultural and educative values of Tibet. One of the most significant institutions of the world, the Institute of Tibetology is that centre where many scholars research on the Tibetan language and tradition. Furthermore, you can know more about Life-at-Tibet through valuable material kept in the museum and Tibetan library that has preserved innumerable rich collections of the studies.
Flower Show

The flower show is the International Flower Festival which is celebrated every peak season of blooming. This is a must-visit and stupendous moment for every nature lover.
Ropeway and Banjhakri Falls
Last but not the least, you will be enthralled by the bounteous attractiveness of the place when you will travel through Ropeway to reach Banjhakri Falls which is 70 ft tall waterfall surrounded by lush greenery of dense forest. This waterfall ascribes the natives because of their belief that it has all the healing and magical power like any other sacred place.

The second day of this tour commences with a nutritious breakfast at the hotel, followed by sightseeing in Gangtok
TSONGMO LAKE:
First, head to the Tsomgo Lake or what is also known as the Changu Lake. A 3-hour drive is what it will take to reach at the height of 12,400 feet.
It is a glacial lake that is considered to be sacred by locals and the reflection of the neighbouring hills on the water is sure to leave you enthralled. There is a small temple built alongside the shore aswell.
BABA HARBHAJAN MANDIR:
Next, visit the Baba Harbhajan Mandir. The view from 13,200 feet above where this temple is situated is a sight for sore eyes. It is a shrine that is dedicated to an Indian soldier who passed away by drowning in a nearby stream. His clothes, shoes and badges are preserved here along with his photographs.
It is mandatory for army officials to pay their respects here for it is believed that his soul still protects the fellow military mates. Many people also bottle the water in the name of the ailing people and the water seems to heal them.
NATHULA PASS:
Lastly, visit Nathula Pass [14,140 ft] A historic Indo-China border post [subject to permit and weather]. A proud, patriotic moment for many travellers!
Return back to the hotel in Gangtok for a comfortable overnight stay
After munching on some delicious breakfast, get done with all the checkout procedures and proceed for a half day sightseeing in Kalimpong.
Deolo Hill
First, visit the Deolo Hill which is the highest point of Kalimpong town. On a clear day, you may also catch glimpses of snow-clad Alps of Sikkim that are observable from this hill.
Science City
Then head to the Science City. If you are interested in puzzles or have a scientific bent of mind, this is the place for you. The dinosaur park here is also a special attraction for kids.
Durbin Dara Hill
On your list, the next stop is at the Durbin Dara Hill. It is one of the two mountains on which the town of Kalimpong stands. The two hills are connected by a ridge offering an all-round view of the town of Kalimpong along with the Teesta River and its valley
Jang Dong Palriffo, Brang Monastery and Pine View Cactus Nursery:
Lastly, visit the Jang Dong Palriffo, Brang Monastery and Pine View Cactus Nursery. The Gompa is a great place for conquering tranquillity and relaxation away from the worldly difficulties. While, the Pine View Cactus Nursery is known for its exotic collection of over 1500 species of cactus collected from around the globe for over 40 years.

On the journey to Darjeeling, at some places, the drive is not so smooth but it’s worth it as you will drive past lovely green gardens, gushing rivers, old bridges and traditional villages. Reach the Hotel, check in and stay overnight
Start from the hotel at around 4 am to reach the magnificent Tiger Hill (2590 m) which is the highest point of Darjeeling. It offers breathtaking views of the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. While coming back from the Hill, halt at the Batasia Loop, a spiral railway track at a beautiful location and Ghoom Monastery. Take a break for breakfast. Now continue your journey with a visit to the Japanese Temple, a Buddhist pilgrimage known for its wonderful traditional Japanese architecture. Other attractions which will be covered are Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park(closed on Thursdays) Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, , Tenzing Rock, Peace Pagoda and Chitrey Tea Garden(outer view). In the evening enjoy a leisurely walk on the Mall Road and Chowrasta.
