DAY 1 : ARRIVE & DRIVE TO PHUNTSEOLING

Once you arrive at Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station, you will meet your travel coordinator and then head towards to the border town of Phuntseoling.

The drive is about 5 Hours depending on the road conditions passing through some very scenic roads. The vehicle shall drop you off at your destination/hotel in the evening.

DAY 2 : DRIVE TO THIMPU (BHUTAN)

After breakfast, the documentation to procure the Innerline Permits is done and then journey to the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu (7,100 ft) which is about 160 kms and takes around 5 hrs. You would be passing through some wonderful Himalayan valleys during this journey.

DAY 3 : THIMPU SIGHTSEEING

This day is for the sightseeing in and around Thimpu. Post breakfast, visit to Dochula Pass (20 kms away), the highest point of Bhutan.

Upon return, visit the TashiDzong, Zorig Chisum, Sangay Ghang, Buddha Dordenma, National Institute for Zorig Chusum, National Folk Heritage Museum. Evenings are free for shopping and leisure activities.

DAY 5 : PARO SIGHTSEEING

This day is for the sightseeing in and around Paro.

DAY 7 : LAST GLIMPSE OF SHANGRI LA

After breakfast, check-out from your hotel and the vehicle drops you to Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station for return journey gives you a last glimpse into the Shangri La.

DAY 4 : DRIVE TO HAA VALLEY - PARO

After breakfast at your hotel, depart to Haa valley via Chunzom. The drive will give you the opportunity to drive you through deep pine forest and into the narrow valley of Haa.

Haa is made up of five counties and was closed to the outside world until 2002. There is a military camp by the Indian Army. Visit Wangchuk Dzong which dates back to 1915 and also visit Lhakhang Nakpo.

After lunch, drive to Paro via Chelela Pass (3,810 m) which takes 2 hrs to cover 68 kms. From the pass you will get a good view of the highest mountains of Bhutan and the Himalayan peaks. Dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Paro.

DAY 6 : TIGERS NEST - PHUNTSEOLLING

After breakfast, trek to Takshang Monastery (famously called the Tigers Nest) and drive back to Phuntseolling in the afternoon.
