Once you arrive at Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station, you will meet your travel coordinator and then head towards Gangtok (5,800 ft), which is the capital of the state of Sikkim. The drive is about 4 hrs depending on the road conditions passing through some very scenic roads along the river Teesta.
The vehicle shall drop you off at your destination/hotel in the evening. If you happen to arrive early in the day, a stroll along MG Marg in the evenings is a recommended activity.
The travel partner meets you in the morning at your hotel and post breakfast you shall head towards the scenic Tsongmo Lake and Nathula Pass (check for permits).
The drive takes you to an altitude above 14,000 ft covering just a distance of 50 kms from Gangtok.
The vehicle shall drop you off at your hotel or MG Marg, based on your preferences.
Day 3 starts off post breakfast as you commence your drive towards Lachen. The drive takes you through some amazingly scenic valleys and viewpoints, some breath-taking waterfalls and some amazing Himalayan roads ending at your destination at Lachen Village in the evening.
The drive is covered in about 6 hrs including breaks. Some notable points en-route includes Rakdong Falls, Singhik Viewpoint and Toong Waterfall.
Day 4 starts off early as you commence your drive towards Gurudongmar Lake (17,100 ft) at the very edge of the Tibetan Plateau and perhaps the highest altitude most of us shall ever travel to.
The drive takes you through some amazingly scenic valleys ending in the Tibetan Plateau, some breath-taking Himalayan roads also bring you back to Lachen and then take you to Lachung ending at your destination at Lachung Village in the evening.
You need to start the day early today and head towards the amazing Yumthang Valley. The drive can be further extended towards Zero Point from where the views of the snow covered high Himalayan peaks can be viewed and the glory of the Yumthang Valley can be further appreciated.
The drive further to Zero Point includes additional charges. Post the visit to Yumthang/Zero Point, you shall return to Lachung for lunch and head back to Mangan/Gangtok for the night stay.
After breakfast, check-out from your hotel and take the drive to Pelling via Namchi, Samdruptse, Char Dham and the Sai Mandir. You shall be reaching Pelling late in the afternoon.
Post breakfast you shall be driving to Darjeeling, passing through some wonderful River Valleys and Tea Gardens with great views all along the way.
You shall visit Peshok tea estate along the route. You might also want to try out the river rafting experience at Melli. Check in at your hotel late evening.
After breakfast, check-out from your hotel and the vehicle drops you to Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station for return journey and bring your Himalayan Odyssey to a close.
This Day has been reserved so that you get to further appreciate this quaint little Himalayan town, so the day is for Gangtok sightseeing for the day.
After breakfast at your hotel and visit Bakthang Falls, Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Dodrul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show, Directorate of Handloom & Handicrafts Centre, Ropeway Ride, Banjhakri Waterfalls and Enchey Monastery.
The vehicle shall drop you off at either MG Marg or your hotel based on your preference. You might also want to add the Paragliding to your list for the more adventurous ones among you.
This day is for Pelling sightseeing. Visit the Khechepeori Lake, Kanchenjunga Waterfalls, Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfalls, Sunrise/Sunset Point, Pemayangtse Monastery and Rhabdentse Ruins. You can also trek to Dubdi Monastery (approx 3 kms from Pelling) which is the oldest monastery in Sikkim.
The Day is set for sights in and around Darjeeling. It starts with an early pick up at 4 am from your hotel and visit to Tiger Hill for sunrise.
Upon return, visit Batasey Loop and Ghoom Monastery. The vehicle then drops you at your hotel for breakfast.
Post breakfast, Darjeeling sightseeing for the full day. Visits include Samco Ropeway, Tea Gardens, Peace Pagoda, The Art Gallery, Himalayan Zoo, Tenzing Norgay Rock, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute are few of the highlights of this day.
